Before and after photographs of some of the projects that were successfully carried out during 2015.
Over the course of Spring and Summer, we completely transformed the back of this garden. Jobs that we were involved in:
Removing several conifer trees
Replacing the back fence
Re-turfing the back of the lawn which was prone to flooding. This was dealt with by adding drainage material to help prevent this
and lastly, a brick-edged area of hard landscaping was added to an existing bricked area to accomodate a new shed.
Four tonnes of soil and over thirty new perenials and shrubs went to filling up this planter which ran down one side and accross the back of the garden. This will look fantastic next season.
In a car-park, for an industrial estate, we were presented with what looked like a fly-tipping incident, which was now full of weeds and brambles. We dug away all of the excess earth and landscaped the area, thus reclaiming the car park.
Two neighbours' fences had become rotten, but they both wanted to keep to original design. Therefore, all rotten wood was removed and the main part of the fence, including gates, were re-newed using decking boards (second picture taken halfway though painting with wood preserve).
A new fence, replacing a delapidated picket fence.
A garden make-over achieved by removing an old lawn, which had grown into clumps, installing a retaining wall, for a flower bed, and laying an aritifical-grass lawn.
Where the garden's 'patio' area was in such a state - old concrete, type 1 etc - a quick solution was to deck the area. For this build, new timber was needed for the carcass, but re-cycled decking was used for the deck itself.
This was only a small court-yard garden, but it can be surprising how quickly they can get out of hand. We even uncovered a pond!
On this decorative corner, the previous bamboo border had rotted allowing the pebbles to spill out into the lawn. We replaced the area giving it a more permanent solution.
The back-garden lawn had become rather threadbare and patchy. The best and quickest solution was to remove the old lawn and re-turf (including a new timber retainer wall).
A decorative front lawn had become a bit neglected, therefore a quick solution was a small artificial lawn.
Here we removed an old lawn, edged the area, replaced it with a type 1 base and 20mm shingle to create extra parking spaces.
